1. Is Ironstone still open?

The Ironstone Building Company has shut down all non-essential operations to help flatten the curve and ensure the safety of all of our staff and homeowners. Ironstone staff are working remotely when possible, and you can still reach our warranty team by phone or email, or reach our project administrators to ask questions or to get additional information not answered in this FAQ.

  1. Is my Ironstone condo still under Tarion warranty?

Yes, your home is still covered under warranty, and any warranty items can be sent to our service department who will respond to you within 24 hours or as soon as possible.

  1. Will you still fix a deficiency I send to the warranty team under my new home warranty?

Ironstone is committed to still providing essential services to our homeowners. We will continue to do our utmost address emergencies and follow up on serious warranty items. Cosmetic items may be delayed due to COVID-19 and the province’s guidelines to ensure social distancing and staff safety. Warranty items can still be sent to our service department, who will respond do you within 24 hours.

  1. Do I still get to do a Pre-Delivery Inspection for my Ironstone home?

Ironstone is following Tarion’s new guidelines for completing PDIs and Closing appointments, which you can read here. We will be completing PDIs on our homeowner’s behalf to ensure our homeowners’ health and safety, while ensuring we do a thorough inspection of your unit to ensure it is up to Ironstone’s standard. All documents and information from the PDI will be emailed to you later that day, with instructions to prepare you for your occupancy date.   1. If you do the Pre-Delivery Inspection for me, can I still do a walkthrough on my own before my occupancy date?

We are unable to offer walkthroughs to our homebuyers due to the pandemic and new safety guidelines from the Ministry of Health and from Tarion. Floor plans, pictures, and 3D tours of Ironstone models can be found on our website to see the layouts, measurements, and designs of our Ironstone homes.

  1. Do I still need to pay occupancy fees for my condo?

Yes, occupancy fees are still required to ensure we can provide full services to your condo community and address any common element items.

  1. Will my occupancy date for my condo be delayed?

We are notifying any Ironstone homeowner who may experience an unavoidable delay in their occupancy or closing due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. If you have received this notice, you can contact Ironstone and we will provide regular updates on the status of your Ironstone home and when we expect it to be completed.

  1. Can I delay my occupancy/closing?

We cannot guarantee we can accommodate scheduling changes to occupancies/closings. If you wish to change your occupancy or closing date, please reach out to your realtor or legal representative who assisted you with your purchase to discuss an amendment to your agreement of purchase and sale.

  1. For Ironstone Condos currently in occupancy, will my closing be delayed?

Ironstone staff are working with the city of London to complete closings for our condominium units as quickly as possible. There could be unavoidable delays due to current circumstances, but if we believe there will be a delay, an Ironstone representative will contact you.
